ESPN.com | Buster Olney: Happy 20th Cashiversary, Yankee fans! Twenty years ago, George Steinbrenner hired Brian Cashman to be the new General Manager of the New York Yankees. Twenty years. That’s crazy. It’s even crazier when you consider that George Steinbrenner never fired him. Winning three straight World Series in a row probably helped put him in good standings with the Boss. It also helps that he was also willing to stand up to Steinbrenner when it came to difficult decisions. You should absolutely read this piece on the Yankees’ GM. He is truly one of the best in the game.
MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: One accomplishment Brian Cashman is getting a lot of praise for lately is his rebuilt farm system. “Just play the kids” is finally a somewhat logical idea. Yesterday, the Yankees announced that an additional twenty non-roster invitees will be joining the squad in Tampa. Pretty much all of the best pinstriped prospects will be in attendance for spring training. Gleyber Torres, Estevan Florial, Miguel Andujar, Tyler Norton, and Chance Adams are just some of the exciting names that will be competing for a job. In addition, the Yankees signed seven players to minor-league contracts. They will also be competing for a job this spring. Exciting times are almost here.
New York Daily News | Mike Mazzeo: Are you excited about those Yankee prospects? If so, have I got a link for you. There’s a scout. He evaluates the prospects. That’s...all I got. GET HYPED!
