SB Nation | Grant Brisbee: It’s been a while since this happened, and I know Greg and I have failed to remind you guys in these daily news posts but: Giancarlo Stanton is a Yankee. Crazy, right? I know! It’s been lost in this offseason, but luckily Grant Brisbee was here to remind us all that the Yankees have Stanton.
Their fans get to watch both of them! There will be innings where the “due up” chyron will include some combination of Judge, Stanton, and Sanchez, and it’s not fair. It’s absolutely not fair. And the Yankees are the absolute masters of taking not fair and spreading it on an English muffin before they lock eyes with you and eat it, savoring every bite like it’s the best taste they’ve ever experienced, which it is.
MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: Fans have been dreaming about what the Yankees’ potential lineup would look like. The thought of Stanton, Aaron Judge, and Gary Sanchez all hitting back-to-back-to-back in some order is salivating. New skipper Aaron Boone is having fun thinking of the potential. There probably hasn’t been another time a manager has been handed a roster this loaded (except Tyler Norton) in their first go-round. Let’s just hope he doesn’t go full Ruxin with his tinkering.
New York Post | Ken Davidoff: Tomorrow will mark 20 years since Brian Cashman became the general manager of the Yankees. That’s just crazy to think about. 20 years in one job is so rare, especially in sports, but Cashman’s done it. The best part is that there’s no end in sight and the best may be yet to come, now that he’s got unlimited power and the Yankees have truly become his team. Congrats to Cashman for 20 great years!
New York Daily News | Mike Mazzeo: Yankee ticket sales for 2018 are up as they’ve sold 550,000 more tickets compared to this point last year. That makes sense since last year they were heading into a “rebuilding” year and now they’re World Series favorites. People are excited for 2018 thanks to Aaron Judge’s historic rookie campaign, another year of the Kraken unleashed, a potential full season of Greg Bird soaring, and when you add the acquisition of Stanton to that mix, sales are going to be up.
CBS Sports: You know the Hot Stove? Well it is lit. It’s burning. Don’t touch it, because it’s lit and it’s hot. The Yankees have made a HUGE move. They’ve signed David Hale to a minor league contract. Hale, of the Wyoming Hales (definitely a thing, why would I make that up?), spent last season with the Dodgers Triple-A team, and has made two whole major league appearances in the last two years. The Yankees already had Red Thunder, but now they’re ready for the Hale storm.
