Just a couple weeks after Patrick Corbin’s free agency tour, Manny Machado has started his. On Monday, the shortstop met with the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field, and he plans to meet with the Phillies tomorrow. In between those visits, he stopped by the Bronx to visit Yankee Stadium today.

Not too many details have leaked at this point, but the meeting between Machado and the Yankees lasted about 90 minutes. It’s tough to say whether that’s a good or bad sign. For all we know, they’re not really interested and just gave him an “educational” tour like they gave to Corbin. Either Machado signs with the Yankees, or he doesn’t. Hopefully he decides soon and puts us all out of our misery.

Just like with Corbin, they gave Machado the billboard treatment during the tour:

Now we’re back to playing the waiting game. Knowing Brian Cashman’s style, it’s unlikely that he made Machado an offer today. It’s also unlikely that he’d accept an offer without knowing what kind of money the Phillies are willing to throw at him. After all, they’re the ones who have been vocal about wanting to spend money “and maybe even be a little stupid about it.”
