NY Daily News | Wallace Matthews: The big news is that Manny Machado is visiting Yankee Stadium today. Oddly enough, it seemed like the Bombers had no spot for him as recently as three months ago. Then Didi Gregorius underwent Tommy John surgery and a shortstop-sized hole just happened to open up. There is a compelling argument to be made that the Yankees need Machado now.

New York Post | Joel Sherman: According to Sherman, the question of signing Machado has less to do with the money and more to do with whether he’s the right player. He believes Machado has shown who he really is over the years, and if the Yankees sign him, they’d be reverting back to old habits (like paying big for the polarizing players, not giving the kids a chance, doing whatever it takes to be better than Boston).

SNY | Scott Thompson: It’s no secret that Miguel Andujar really struggled defensively in 2018. Everyone should be happy to hear that he’s trying to improve. Andujar, Aaron Boone and infield coach Carlos Mendoza all met in Tampa in November to come up with an offseason plan for the third baseman. It sounds like he’s been working on a variety of footwork drills. Adrian Beltre also extended an offer to help Andujar sometime during the offseason.
