New York Post | George A. King III: Manny Machado will visit the Yankees on Wednesday. He is expected to be told that the team is not interested in giving him the reported $300 million he seeks, and that they want him to explain his behavior during the postseason. Machado is also scheduled to meet with other clubs, including the Phillies, White Sox, and at least one mystery team. King reports that since multiple members of Phiadelphia’s front office were with the Orioles when they drafted Machado in 2010, and subsequently watched him develop, the deep-pocketed Phillies were the early favorite to secure the star.

Boston Globe | Nick Cafardo: Cafardo reports that the Yankees will “monitor” free agent Troy Tulowitzki as a possible fall-back option in case they don’t sign Machado. Toronto released the injury-prone Tulowitzki this week at a cost of $38 million.

Newsday | Erik Boland: Boland reports that Miguel Andujar doesn’t seem to be much for the “off” part of the offseason, as the ROY runner-up has already been to the Yankees complex in Tampa to work on his defense. Infield coach Carlos Mendoza, who has a close relationship with Andujar, told Boland that they’ve been working together this winter. Mendoza said that the 23-year-old third baseman has a strong desire to not just be good, but to be “great.” It’s really nice to see such a great work ethic and positive attitude from the youngster.

NBC Sports Boston | Nick Goss: Red Sox fans trolled the Yankees regarding their meeting with Machado after it was announced by MLB. Just remember, Beantowners, “we are a fully operational death star.”
