NJ.com | Brendan Kuty: While not a lot about the details are known, the Yankees will be one of the teams to meet with Manny Machado in the coming days. He is expected to go to New York and get a Patrick Corbin-like treatment. Whether that means in the contract as well as the stadium tour and such remains to be seen.
Fangrahps | Craig Edwards: One of the things to come out of the Yankees/Marlins/Mets trade rumor was that the Yankees were apparently willing to give up Miguel Andujar in a deal. It’s not shocking, considering that he’s obviously talented but not without flaws. His struggles at third base could see him moved to an outfield spot should he be traded.
New York Post | George King III: With Corbin off the board and J.A. Happ seemingly on the verge of a deal with the Phillies, Japanese pitcher Yusei Kikuchi is now seemingly one of the more interesting options out there. Brian Cashman said the Yankees have “scouted him extensively.” Who knows what exactly that means, but at the very least it’s more intriguing than Lance Lynn or something. Maybe not better, but definitely more interesting.
NorthJersey.com | Pete Caldera: In addition to a possible Kikuchi signing, the Yankees may have to rely on the trade market for another starter. We’ve already seen them apparently get in on some creative ideas with the Noah Syndergaard stuff, but there could be some other interesting names get put on the market in coming days.
