The Yankees’ nemesis, the Boston Red Sox, is on the verge of advancing to the World Series. Boston took a 3-1 lead in the ALCS last night thanks to a dramatic, controversial 8-6 victory over the Astros. Houston’s hopes of defending their title are now on life support.

It’s not all over yet, as the Astros will send Justin Verlander to the mound to save their season. Boston will counter with David Price on three days rest, and just one night after manager Alex Cora had Price warm up in the bullpen in case of a collapse from closer Craig Kimbrel. Boston’s pitching appears to be just barely holding together at this point, but their offense has mashed to the point that they are on the verge of defeating Houston anyway.

We’ll see if a couple of big name pitchers will be enough to quell the high-scoring tendencies of this series. First pitch is schedule for 8:09 EST and can be seen on TBS.
