Yahoo Sports | Mark Townsend: Giancarlo Stanton led the league in home runs last year and he might do it again this year while breaking the single-season home run record. Why? It has nothing to do with the short porch, but just Stanton’s workout. Now that Giancarlo Stanton is a Yankee (I will always work this into the news), he’s prepping for the upcoming season with workouts that’ll make anyone swoon.
SNY | Chris Carelli: We’ve talked about how Giancarlo Stanton is a Yankee already, but we haven’t talked about how he’ll acclimate to New York. I think Stanton will do just fine on the Yankees. Stanton had a solid surrounding cast around him with the Marlins and put up the numbers he did. Now he’ll be surrounded by the likes of Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez, and Greg Bird, so he shouldn’t have any trouble adjust to New York. The fear from opposing pitchers alone should help him out.
MLB.com: In former Yankee news, Bartolo Colon keeps on trekking along. If it seems like forever since he rejuvenated his career with the Yankees, that’s because it has been. Seven years ago Colon was in pinstripes and now at age 44, he’s still looking to keep going. Supposedly, a reunion with the Mets may be in the works for him as they have some interest. Either way, keep Bartolo pitching forever please and keep him in the National League. Colon hitting is the only good thing about pitchers hitting.
