MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: There’s been a lot said about how good the Yankees’ farm system is Let’s continue that trend and say even more good things about it. MLB Pipeline just released it’s Top 10 LHP prospects and our very own Justus Sheffield is on that list at number three. Sheffield performed well in the Arizona Fall League and he is hoping to make it to the majors this year. I think it’s safe to say we’re all rooting for Justus.
MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: In 2016, Gary Sanchez was thought to be the new face of the franchise after his historic first two months. Even the YES Network Yoga instructor had to have the crew manage expectations. Now Gary, he who is Gary, has been a bit eclipsed by Aaron Judge’s historic 2017. Sanchez is happy to just be another part of the team, which now gleefully includes Giancarlo Stanton. He has also spent the offseason working on his defense and making a connection with his new manager, 2013 ALCS hero Aaron Boone.
MLB.com | Mike Petriello: A lot has been made of the Yankees’ incredible offense. There’s also been numerous discussion about their starting rotation and whether or not it needs help. One area of pitching that doesn’t seem to be a concern is the bullpen. That’s probably because it is good. Very good. It may very well be the best bullpen ever created. We’ll see if that’s hyperbole or reality this year, but they look legit.
Yahoo Sports | Jeff Passan: Finally, here’s a very interesting article regarding the current state of MLB’s economic system. It does not paint a pretty picture at all. There’s a paragraph in it regarding Brian Cashman, but the whole thing is worth reading. So read it.
