I know the Yankees lost last night and it was bad. I don’t know the details but I also don’t want to know the details so please don’t tell me. The team looks to get right back on the horse today in a Saturday matinee against the Rangers.
I think a lot of Yankee fans have gotten in the habit of circling Luis Severino’s starts on their calendars. Today’s another one of those days, as the dynamic young ace takes the hill to put down a Rangers offense that went off last night. The kid has been nearly untouchable in the second half, with an ERA and FIP both below three and striking out 30% of batters he faces.
Greg Bird is finally back in the starting lineup, at first base against the righthander Andrew Cashner. Worldbeater Chase Headley find himself at DH today as the Yankees pencil five lefties in the lineup.
First pitch goes at 1:05pm EDT, and you can see it on FOX and hear it on WFAN.
