The Yankees won a nail biter last night, topping the Minnesota Twins 2-1 to move a full five games ahead of the Twinkies in the Wild Card standings. Joe Girardi and company will have another chance to further solidify their playoff position tonight, as the two postseason hopefuls square off under rainy skies in New York.
Ageless wonder CC Sabathia gets the ball for the Yankees after being juggled in the rotation earlier this week. After three straight quality starts to end August, Sabathia's looked a little weary in September, but hopefully can return to his reliably soft-contact ways tonight.
Matt Holliday sits again as Chase Headley stays in the DH slot.
Catch first pitch at 7:05pm EDT (hopefully), on YES and WFAN.
