New York Post | George A. King III: Though the Yankees still have the division in their sights, they seem to be prepping for themselves to a Wild Card showdown by altering their rotation. Luis Severino’s regular turn in the rotation would be on Wednesday against the Twins, but right now Joe Girardi is pushing Severino back to Friday and has Masahiro Tanaka set for Wednesday. This gives Severino an advantage if the Yankees end up facing the Twins in the Wild Card game on October 3rd.

Newsday | David Lennon: If the season were to end today, the Yankees would be prepping to host the Twins in the Wild Card game. Well the season isn’t over, but the Yankees are preparing to host the Twins tonight. In doing so, they’ll face the Twins top two pitchers and get a good look at what to expect in a potential Wild Card match-up. Ervin Santana and Jose Berrios would likely get the ball for the Twins in a Wild Card game and they’ll pitch against the Yankees tonight and tomorrow, respectively.

The Score | Jonathan Soveta: Derek Jeter was an all-time great shortstop for the Yankees. When he retired, many were left wondering how long it would be until the Yankees found a suitable replacement. Thankfully, Brian Cashman used literally Shane Greene and Yankee fans never had to wait for a suitable replacement as Didi Gregorius has emerged as one of the top shortstops in the league. On Sunday, Gregorius tied Jeter’s mark for home runs in a season by a Yankee shortstop.
