New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles: Jordan Montgomery vs. Jeremy Hellickson

The Yankees are staring down a playoff spot. There is still a large group of teams on the periphery of the Wild Card chase, but per FanGraphs, the Yankees and Twins are the only primary Wild Card contenders that project to eclipse 82 wins. New York can reach that total today against the Orioles with a fourth straight win.

Jordan Montgomery (4.24 ERA, 4.32 FIP) gets the call for the Yankees. He had a tough start last time out, giving up three runs and recording just 10 outs against the Rangers. Baltimore will send out Jeremy Hellickson (5.23 ERA, 5.66 FIP), whom they acquired at the trade deadline. That Hellickson was the Orioles' primary in-season pitching upgrade is rather illustrative of their playoff push as a whole.

The game starts at 4:05 EST and can be seen on the YES Network.
