Tonight the Yankees open up a critical home series against the AL Central leading Indians. It comes with a blockbuster pitching matchup, too. Toeing the rubber for New York is the Yankees' breakout ace Luis Severino, whose 3.10 ERA is bested amongst AL starters only by Chris Sale and his opponent tonight, Corey Kluber.
The Indians ace is having yet another phenomenal season; he's been better than ever since coming off the disabled list in June. Meanwhile Severino has rebounded nicely allowing only one earned run in 13 innings since his subpar outing against the Red Sox. Runs will be at a premium as #AugustGary leads the way while Aaron Judge gets a day off. The returning Starlin Castro and Greg Bird also feature alongside the suddenly competent Jacoby Ellsbury.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM and can be seen on YES locally, ESPN nationally.
