The last three days have been pretty good for the Yankees. After losing in extras to Boston on Sunday, the Yankees have responded with three straight wins against the Mets, and it's been a lot of fun to watch this team again. Aaron Hicks is back and continuing his career-best season. Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez each have two home runs this series. Sonny Gray got his first win as a Yankee after out-pitching Jacob deGrom, and tonight is primed to be another good night of baseball. The Yankees will send out Luis Severino to face Mets' lefty Steven Matz in what figures to be a battle between to promising young starters.

With a lefty on the mound, Joe Girardi has unsurprisingly gone with a right-handed heavy lineup tonight. Girardi favors Brett Gardner to Jacoby Ellsbury when facing a lefty starters. As such, Aaron Hicks will play center tonight, while Gardner mans left field. Despite being a switch-hitter, Chase Headley has not been good against lefties this season, so he'll take a seat tonight too. Garrett Cooper would have figured to start at first base tonight, but he went on the DL today with left hamstring tendonitis. Tyler Austin was called-up in his place and will start tonight.

In other injury-related news, Greg Bird continues his rehab tonight. He's DH'ing tonight after playing five innings at first yesterday. Earlier this afternoon, Bryan Hoch announced that Matt Holliday and Starlin Castro would begin their rehab assignments soon. Holliday will go to Class-A Tampa, while Castro will rehab in Scranton with the Railriders. With such a tough schedule the rest of the way, adding these three guys is going to be huge.

Tonight's first pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM EST. The game is being broadcast on YES, WPIX (Mets broadcast), and the MLB Network.
