Milwaukee Brewers @ New York Yankees: First Half Denouement

New, comments

The unofficial first half closes with an interleague rubber match

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Riding the high of yesterday's dramatic walkoff win, the Yankees will look to Masahiro Tanaka to deliver their first series win in a long time. Tanaka may be in the process of turning his season around, with four great starts in his last five outings. Jake wrote earlier in the week about how his fastball has found new life lately, and that will certainly be something to keep an eye on throughout today's game.

The Brewers send starter slash hardboiled-detective-novel-character Jimmy Nelson to counter Tanaka. Nelson's worked to the tune of a 3.20 ERA and 3.11 FIP in his third full season in the majors, as he looks to be rounding into the potential that made him a second round pick out of Alabama in 2010.

Lineup is a little different from yesterday, with Tyler Wade getting the start at second. Clint Frazier DHs.

Catch the game at 1:05PM EDT on YES and WFAN.
