Another fantastic debut

Around the Empire | Bryan Hoch: This has been quite the week for Yankees prospects making their major league debuts, both good and bad. Yesterday’s debut was great for Clint Frazier, despite the awful loss. Frazier went 2-for-4, hitting a double in his second at-bat and a home run in his third at-bat. Impressive, Red Thunder. Frazier stated that while he wants to make sure he’s not a distraction to the team, he still wants to be himself. That’s all we can ask. | Chris Cwik: The first half of the season is coming to a close. If the season were to end at the All-Star Break, Aaron Judge would undoubtedly be the MVP. The funny thing is that Judge is striking out a significant amount, yet he still has one of the best averages in the league at .331. Not too shabby. Bottom line is that when he makes contact, good things happen. Very good things. Like dingers. Powerful dingers.

Newsday | Erik Boland: Speaking of Judge, he wasn’t in yesterday’s lineup. Of course there was concerns all around. It’s been that kind of June. Judge is healthy though. Girardi was just giving him a day off. Judge came in to pinch hit for Chris Carter and popped out, which sadly ended his consecutive on-base streak. I blame Betances and Chapman for that, since Judge was needed in the first place because of their bad outings.

New York Daily News | Nicole Bitette: Finally, Alex Rodriguez appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Friday. Among other things, he discussed what it’s been like dating Jennifer Lopez. A-Rod says that he’s often mistaken as one of her security guards. In addition, paparazzi will yell at him to “get out of the way” so they can take a photo of J-Lo. Oh how things have changed.
