Last night's loss was incredibly frustrating, especially because Masahiro Tanaka has been an automatic loss as of late. It was also frustrating because it brought the Yankees' AL East lead down to just one game. Lose tonight and the lead is gone.
Now, that doesn't matter too much on June 7th. Having a lead is nice, but it's not necessary for them to maintain a lead straight through to the postseason. However, the pitching crashing back to Earth makes regaining that ground a taller order. Hopefully CC Sabathia can get them back on track tonight.
