Newsday | Ari Kramer: Have you grown tired of watching Chris Carter play first base for the Yankees? It seems like Joe Girardi is kinda tired of putting him out there for your viewing pleasure as well. Sadly, Brian Cashman still believes that Carter is the Yankees’ best option at first base. For now. Tyler Austin is still in Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and they don’t quite think he’s better than Carter at this point. It would be hard to be much worse, but we’ll just have to trust that they know more than we do. By the way, Austin made a really nice defensive play and hit a two-run dinger in yesterday’s Railriders game. Yay.

MLB.com | Matthew Martell: Have you grown tired of watching Tyler Clippard pitch in high leverage innings for the Yankees? Or low leverage innings? Or just innings in general? It seems like Joe Girardi might soon take him out of that role after tonight’s sad display. Happily, the Yankees may have found another seventh inning guy with Chad Green. Since being inserted into the bullpen, Green has performed well. With Aroldis Chapman back and Dellin Betances being Dellin Betances, Green might just be what the bullpen needs right now. We need to see less of Clippard at this point.

Fangraphs | Eno Sarris: Have you grown tired of watching Jordan Montgomery pitch? Yeah, me neither. It seems like Joe Girardi made the right move giving him the fifth starter job before the season started. This article provides a look at what has worked for Montgomery, what has slightly stopped working for Montgomery, and the adjustments Montgomery has made. He’s still doing well enough to warrant him keeping the fifth starter role, so that’s encouraging.

New York Daily News | Justin Tasch: Have you grown tired of watching Chris Carter play first base for the Yankees? It seems like Joe Girardi and the rest of us will have to wait a few days to see what becomes of Greg Bird. Bird received a cortisone shot in his right ankle to hopefully reduce the inflammation. If successful, Bird will begin baseball activities in three-to-six days. Cashman still believes that we’ll once again see Bird in the majors before the season ends. That would be nice.

Yahoo Sports | Mike Oz: Have you grown tired of Tim Tebow coverage? It seems like Joe Girardi has nothing to do with this article. Apparently the Yankees’ Single-A team, the Charleston RiverDogs, spent their series playing the Columbia Fireflies mocking the Mets’ prospect. Mets GM Sandy Alderson stated that it was all very “minor-league” which is, well, truthful. Who knew that signing a player for attention would warrant him getting this kind of attention? Dave Echols, the RiverDogs GM, apologized for the mockery.
