One way or another, the Yankees are leaving the west coast after today's game. It has been a nightmare trip for the Yankees, culminating in a season-high five-game losing streak. It's not what you want.
Luis Cessa gets the start in place of the injured CC Sabathia this afternoon. It's probably not an ideal situation for a team that desperately needs a win, but hopefully Cessa can be solid enough to give the team a chance. New York still sits on top of the AL East, somehow, but their lead is down to one game over the Red Sox. It's always better to be ahead than not, even if the standings don't matter too much in mid-June.
Either way, they can't get back to the east coast soon enough.
