Last Thursday, Danny Duffy pitched seven shutout innings against the Yankees. He allowed just three hits while racking up 10 strikeouts. He was essentially untouchable. Fast forward five days and the Bombers get to face Duffy again. He made the lineup look off-kilter on several occasions last week. Perhaps the team will have a better strategy for tackling the southpaw this time.
As for the Yankees, they're sending their own left-hander to the mound. Jordan Montgomery will get another crack at the Royals. He struggled with control issues last time out, allowing five runs on four hits and three walks. Here's hoping that Montgomery irons things out. I, for one, would like this rematch to go in the Yankees' favor.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM and can be seen on YES.
