The Yankees escaped stormy Kansas City last night, arriving in sunny and warm Tampa for a three-game set against the Rays. They'll be playing inside the confines of Tropicana Field, however, so I guess weather reports aren't exactly helpful. I'll be happy as long as the Yankees keep hitting and pitching well. It doesn't matter where you win a game, right?
In terms of pitching, Luis Severino will take the mound for the Bombers. He's coming off his worst start of the season, a clunker against the Astros last Sunday. It will be worth monitoring how he fares tonight. Here's hoping he bounces back with a strong outing. As for the Rays, Erasmo Ramirez takes the ball. He was in the bullpen the last time these teams squared off. This will be the Yankees' first crack at Ramirez the starter in 2017. Let's make it a successful one.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM and can be seen on WPIX.
