Yesterday’s spring training game was ugly. It doesn’t count and we never have to talk about it again. Today is a new day and time for a new game. This time, CC Sabathia makes his first spring training appearance of the season.
The big left-hander will be looking to build off a pretty good season a year ago by holding down the middle of the Yankees’ rotation. He’ll contend with the Rays for his first start. Hopefully he can fire up the magic in his knee brace again this year.
As the game is being played at Steinbrenner Field, you can expect that most of the projected regulars will be in the game. Some of them have looked pretty good in spring so far, such as Matt Holliday. It’s definitely an encouraging sign going forward.
