Late Addition to the 2017 Yankees Predictions (and the most accurate)

  1. They keep the win streak alive! I know, I know, it's all or nothing as Yankee fans. Either World Series champions or the whole season was a bust. Well, to put it frankly, we are spoiled brats. The Yankees have finished with a winning record for 24 seasons in a row, which is a tremendous accomplishment that has provided almost two and a half decades straight of meaningful baseball late in the season, and is good for the second longest such streak of all time, trailing only... themselves. The Yankees also finished with a winning record from 1926-1964, a whopping 39 seasons in a row. In a distant third place is the Orioles from 1968-1985 with 18. I pose this question- would you rather your team make the World Series 10 years in a row, yet never capture the championship, or win the World Series one of those ten years, but never make the playoffs the other 9 years. I suspect if we are giving genuine, thoughtful answers that most true baseball fans would prefer the former. And while they haven't made the playoffs every year for 24 seasons in a row, they have played meaningful baseball in September almost every single year since I was born (shoutout to '92 babies!), and I strongly predict they will make it 25 in 2017. Maybe my birth just brought good luck?
  2. Clint Frazier becomes the Gary Sanchez of 2017. I'm not going to claim he will come up from Triple-A and hit 20 HR in 53 games with spectacular defense like Sanchez did, although it is certainly not out of the realm of possibilities. What I mean by this is that he will eventually get his chance to shine, albeit likely later into the season (who knows with Jacoby "Random Injury" Ellsbury if we will need him sooner). Frazier will arrive and solidify himself as a starting outfielder for 2018. With his bat speed, maybe he will just swing so fast that it creates a time portal which fast forwards us all to next season.
  3. The Yankees pull off another "Chapman swindle" but this time with Masahiro Tanaka. I don't know what else to call it, it honestly feels like thievery. I am aware the Cubs went on to win the World Series, making almost any trade seem worth it, but Billy Mckinney was a top 100 prospect prior to the 2016 season, Adam Warren will be a vital piece of our bullpen in 2017 and, oh yeah, we also received the MVP of the Arizona Fall League and the gentleman who, essentially overnight, became the top prospect in our entire organization, which is arguably (I would certainly say so) the best farm system in all of baseball. I didn't forget about Rashad Crawford. Lottery tickets just seem negligible when you've already hit a small jackpot. The Yankees will use Tanaka's solid first half to retrieve another set of youngsters from the highest bidders, bolster their depth once again, and then go on to resign Tanaka after the season. Can it really be that simple? Yes, yes it can.

Well... these are all guaranteed to come true, and that's why this website pays me the big bucks. Peace and love everyone. And let's go Yankees!
