It’s time for another FanPost Friday prompt. Last week we tackled underrated Yankees in team history and received submissions for Roger Maris, Ron Blomberg, Red Ruffing, and Bill Dickey. You can check out all of the FanPosts here. If you find yourself disagreeing with any of those names, or think another player has been overlooked, it’s never too late to write your own take.
Here is this week’s prompt:
Make three Yankees predictions for the 2017 season.
As usual, feel free to interpret this question however you like. You could make stat predictions or focus in on players that you think will perform better or worse than last year. Another idea is to predict the Yankees’ wins and losses, or to guess what the standings in the AL East will be when the season ends. Will the Yankees make the playoffs? Alternatively, you could predict the Opening Day rotation or whether the Yankees will be buyers or sellers at the deadline.
Don’t forget to check out our tips for writing a good FanPost. Remember that it is always a good idea to break up block paragraphs. Keep in mind that FanGraphs, Baseball Reference, or the like can be helpful when trying to make a point. Also, if you have a prompt idea that you would like us to consider using in the future, shoot us an email at pinstripealleyblog [at] gmail [dot] com.
How will we select which FanPosts to promote to the front page? Some of it will be subjective. If you follow our tips linked above, you should find yourself on the right track. We will also be looking for FanPosts with comments and recommendations. Depending on the number of responses we get, receiving some recs on your post could separate your FanPost from the crowd. Additionally, if your post has a number of comments then it may have sparked some worthwhile discussions. These are just a few things we’ll be looking for when we decide which post(s) to promote on the front page.
Make sure you head over to the FanPost section of the website to submit your answers before Friday (March 3rd).
