MLB.com | Jamal Collier: The 2018 Hall of Fame ballot was released yesterday afternoon. Yankee legend Hideki Matsui is on the ballot for the first time. Godzilla spent seven glorious years in the Bronx crushing all those who opposed him. He joins fellow newcomer Johnny Damon and former Yankees Mike Mussina and Roger Clemens on the ballot. I think it’s safe to say that all of Pinstripeville is rooting for Godzilla to make the Hall of Fame.

MLB.com | Jamal Collier: The Yankees cleared some space on the 40-man roster by trading Ronald Herrera to the Texas Rangers for Reiver Sanmartin. Then they cleared even more space by trading Garrett Cooper and Caleb Smith to the Marlins for Giancarlo Stanton Michael King and the Soul-Eating Dinger Machine $250,000 in international signing bonus pool money. With that newfound space, they added Gleyber Torres, Thairo Estrada, Billy McKinney, Albert Abreu, Jonathan Loaisiga and Domingo Acevedo to protect them from the Rule 5 draft coming up in December.

New York Post | George A. King III: As mentioned above, the Yankees got an extra $250,000 in international signing bonus pool money. Many expect that the Yankees will use this to try and get Shohei Ohtani. Of course, that will be moot if the new posting agreement has not been decided by then. The MLBPA and NPB agreed to an extension to hammer out a new posting agreement. Expect to hear news of that in tomorrow’s link dump, starring the legendary Kunj Shah.

ESPN.com | Dan Szymborski: Perhaps the Yankees did not trade for Giancarlo Stanton. That doesn’t mean they won’t. That doesn’t mean that they don’t dream of back-to-back electric dingers. This article gives reasons why the Yankees may or may not trade for Stanton. It also gives reasons other teams may or may not trade for Stanton. Just do us a solid, Jeets. Cool? Cool!

New York Daily News | Christian Red: Finally, Alex Rodriguez’s former girlfriend’s mother Esther Wojcicki talked to the NY Times about A-Rod and A-Rod’s love of baseball. If that was as annoying for you to read as it was for me to type, “holla at ya boi!” Anyway, it appears that all A-Rod would want to do is watch baseball and talk about baseball and you know what, just click the link if you want to read more. Personally, I side with A-Rod here. I just want to watch baseball too.
