Judge wants WS more than ROY and MVP; Girardi should be back; Betances wants Girardi back; Abreu named AFL Pitcher of the Week; Getting to know other prospects

MLB: ALCS-New York Yankees at Houston Astros Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: Aaron Judge is going to win the Rookie of the Year award and he has a good chance of also being the AL MVP. Ask him though, and he’d trade both of those in for a World Series title. Judge says that’s the ultimate goal and that’s what they play for and personal accolades come second to the overall goal. He also said he’s excited for next year and the future for the Yankees.

CBS | Jason Keidel: Joe Girardi’s contract is set to expire, so as of right now, the Yankees don’t know who their manager will be next year. The early favorite is that the Yankees and Girardi will reach an agreement and he’ll be leading this young team for a long time, and he deserves to. Girardi has the experience, attitude, and competence to be the one to lead the Yankees.

New York Daily News | Mike Mazzeo: Add Dellin Betances to the list of Joe Girardi supporters. While many have their own opinions on Girardi and his managing, it really does seem like he has the respect of his clubhouse and the players, which should mean something when the Front Office makes their decision. Betances had a frustrating season to the point where he lost Girardi’s trust in the playoffs and Betances is still here saying Girardi should be back. That should say something.

MLB.com | Omar Soussi: Remember during the ALCS when some people were complaining that the Yankees are paying part of Brian McCann salary? Well it was silly then and just as silly now. Albert Abreu, acquired as part of the McCann trade, was just named AFL Pitcher of the Week. The Yankees got actual prospects back for McCann and worrying about his salary is just something that shouldn’t be happening.

CBS Sports | R.J. Anderson: Albert Abreu isn’t the only Yankee prospect making noise. Yankee fans should familiarize themselves with some of the other prospects the Yankees have in their system as well. Baseball Prospectus’ Craig Goldstein discusses Chance Adams, Estevan Florial, Domingo Acevedo, Miguel Andujar, and Nick Solak.
