Around the Empire | Bryan Hoch: So yeah. Um. Wow. The Yankees, the rebuilding New York Yankees, are a win away from the World Series. Yes. THAT World Series. It helps that Masahiro Tanaka has pitched so very very very very very very well in the postseason. Yesterday was no exception. Tanaka threw seven innings of shutout baseball. He allowed one walk and three hits. He struck out seven. He got his long awaited revenge against Dallas Keuchel from 2015. There are few words to express my pride and my joy right now. I love Tanaka so much. I love this team so much.

Newsday | David Lennon: No seriously, it is really hard to find words to convey words to express what I’m feeling right now. This team is alive. This team is surging. This team feels like there’s nothing that can stop them. That unstoppable feeling is seeping into the minds and hearts of Yankee fans everywhere. A team that, as many fans and professional writers have expressed over the year, shouldn’t be here right now. Yet here they are. Here they are. They finally overcame Dallas Keuchel. If they can overcome Justin Verlander, they’re in. If they can’t, there will be another game to play. The sky’s the limit and it feels like the Yankees are wearing the Wing Cap.

New York Daily News | Kristie Ackert: Does home field advantage matter? Maybe it does. Maybe it doesn’t. It’s hard to argue the latter right now. There has been a lot of talk about how Yankee Stadium feels like the Yankee Stadium of old. The fanbase is pumped. Who can blame them? I’m pumped. You’re pumped. The Yankees feel it and the Astros felt it. They felt it when Gary Sanchez hit that double. It’s an intoxicating feeling. I’m really just waxing poetic at this point. The Yankees are seriously one game away from the World Series. If they make it, we will hear the roar of the Bronx again. I want to hear it again. So do you. | Rhett Bollinger: Taking the mound in Game 6 will be Luis Severino. Man, wouldn’t that just be perfect? Imagine the Yankees overcoming Justin Verlander with Luis Severino opposing him. Luis Severino, who had one of the greatest bounce back seasons we could have hoped for. Luis Severino, who is still pitching while fellow Cy Young candidates Chris Sale and Corey Kluber are sitting at home, not pitching. It feels like it should happen. That’s the kind of year this has been. That’s the kind of postseason the Yankees are having. It’s unreal and it’s wonderful. Let’s do this.

Newsday | Anthony Rieber: The Yankees are even getting production back from the DH position. After Gary Sanchez came through in Game 4, Chase Headley provided three hits of his own in Game 5. The designated hitter is hitting. They’re all hitting. The offensive production over the past three games have propelled the Yankees back to Houston. One more time, Yankees’ offense. Power us to the World Series.

New York Daily News | Esha Ray: Gary Dunaier, the Thumbs Down Guy, is getting an official bobblehead doll. It will be released sometime in February. That’s really all I’ve got for this one. You want more? Okay. THE YANKEES ARE ONE MORE WIN AWAY FROM GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!

I don’t want these to stop. KEEP WINNING. LET’S TAKE IT!
