Around the Empire
Today’s Knuckleball | Jesse Borek: Yankees top prospect Clint Frazier has been placed on the seven-day disabled list with a hamstring injury. Acquired in the Andrew Miller, Frazier only made his Triple-A debut a few days prior to being acquired by the Yankees so he wasn’t likely in consideration for a September call-up this year, but should be ready for the majors as early as next year. Here’s to hoping for a speedy recovery.
NJ.com | Brendan Kuty: The Yankees have been extremely cryptic regarding their 2016 top draft pick being in and out of games. The Pulaski Yankees sent out a tweet late Saturday night that was very worrisome. Fortunately it seems like he just has a hamstring injury which isn’t too serious but will likely keep him out for the rest of the season. He does, however, have a good chance of playing in the Fall Instructional League.
New York Post | Joel Sherman: Playoffs or not, all the games played for the reason of the season matter and have significance. Even if this team doesn’t make the playoffs, it’s valuable to the young Yankees like Gary Sanchez and Aaron Judge to play significant games or games that matter (since they are still within reach of a playoff spot) as experience for the future.
NJ.com | Brendan Kuty: Right now, Gary Sanchez can do no wrong. Joe Girardi said he was fine with Sanchez’s aggressive base running in the fourth inning of yesterday’s loss to the Orioles. Girardi says the decision has to be made by the runner whether or not to run, but didn’t blame Sanchez or Joe Espada for Sanchez being thrown out in a potential rallying inning.
Jewish Press/Tazpit News Agency | Anav Silverman: Incase you’re not aware, the New York Yankees have a ton of sponsors. They’ve now added one more to the list. Wix, an Israeli cloud-based web development platform, will become the team’s official website design partner. Because every baseball team needs that, whatever that is.

Song of the Day
Electrifying by Jim Johnston
It’s WWE Week on Pinstripe Alley. Not having been the biggest WWE fan (not that I’m against it, just not my thing) I probably won’t have much commentary going on here. But please be sure to let us know if you smell what The Rock is cooking and if it smells delicious or not. I imagine he makes a mean chili. As always, please link us your song of the day.
