Around the Empire
New York Daily News | Mark Feinsand: Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller are representing the Yankees at Petco Park for the All-Star Game. The fact that the two of them are In San Diego together makes it that much more special for the two of them, who have formed a "brotherly" bond both in the bullpen and off the field as well. Stories like this are touching. Man, I really do not want the Yankees’ to split these two up during the trade deadline.
Fangraphs | Corinne Landrey: I’ve been spreading the news about Sir Didi Gregorius and his excellent "baseballage" a few times in the past four days. His defense was never really in question, but he now has the offense to match it. This article takes a much more statistical look at how and why his offense has improved so much, as well as if he can keep it up. You should definitely give this a read. Spread the news!
New York Daily News | Mark Feinsand: Besides the dynamic bullpen duo of Betances and Miller, Carlos Beltran is also representing the pinstripes in San Diego. Beltran is having a fantastic year, as his ninth time being an All-Star obviously shows. A lot of the younger All-Stars talk about how they look up to and respect Beltran and the incredible career he’s had. It’s really hard to argue that Beltran should not be a Hall of Famer. The year he’s having is just another reason why that argument really has no leg to stand on.
Fangraphs | Jeff Sullivan: While Didi Gregorius has arguably been the Yankees’ best overall player this year, there’s no denying what has been the most exciting thing about this 2016 Yankees regular season. That, of course, is Jacoby Ellsbury and his magnificent Catcher’s Interference superpower. Ellsbury, or Magnum, C.I as I and I alone like to call him, has reached base eight times this year via catcher’s interference. This ties the all-time season high record and it's only the All-Star break. Please read this and marvel at his excellence.
NJ.com | Brendan Kuty: In one of my absolute favorite things to happen this baseball season, former Yankee legend and current Minnesota Twins legend Eduardo Nunez is an All-Star. The Twins SS/3B texted his friend, former teammate, and Player’s Tribune founder Derek Jeter that he made. The now married Jeter, who texted him back his way, told him that he should enjoy the experience. This meant the world to Nunez. What a fantastic story.

It’s Love Week on Pinstripe Alley, because we could all use a little more love in this world. Today’s selection comes from The Muppet Movie. It is such a beautiful song. Perhaps someday we will indeed find it. As always, please link us your song of the day.
