Tonight is the Home Run Derby! Some people like to knock it, and that's okay because guys hitting dingers on BP pitches can sometimes get tiresome. I always think it's a fun time though, if not only because of the prodigious dingers that come from them. For instance, seeing Josh Hamilton's 2008 Home Run Derby explosion at the old Yankee Stadium remains one of my favorite live baseball memories.
Regardless about how you feel about the derby, it gives us an opportunity to celebrate dingers! So I put together a Sporcle quiz. The premise is simple, but the task is still a challenge: Name every single Yankees player to ever have a 20-homer season. There have been 61 different Yankees to reach the 20-homer plateau. Some names are obvious, but I will be impressed if you get any of the more anonymous names on this quiz. (Spoilers: Somehow, Chris Stewart did not make the cut.)
Let us know how you did in the comments! Feel free to use this as an open thread to discuss the actual Home Run Derby too, if you wish. That will start at 8pm on ESPN with Todd Frazier, Giancarlo Stanton, Wil Myers, Carlos Gonzalez, Mark Trumbo, Corey Seager, Adam Duvall, and old friend Robinson Cano vying for the 2016 derby crown.
