The Yankees will try to take three of four from the Cleveland Indians today. The final game of this series projects to be a fun one, with an excellent starting pitching matchup between the Yankees' ace, Masahiro Tanaka, and one of Cleveland's many aces, Carlos Carrasco. Tanaka is coming off an outstanding start in which he tossed 7.2 scoreless innings against the White Sox, lowering his ERA/FIP to 3.12 and 3.24 in the process. Carrasco is a more than able foe. He has shrugged off some injuries in the first half to post a 2.47 ERA in 69.1 innings.
New York got smoked on Friday night with Chad Green on the mound, but have sandwiched that loss between a pair of one-run wins. They now have an opportunity to take a series on the road from perhaps the American League's best team. That would not be a terrible way to enter the All-Star break. The game will start at 1:10 EST, and can be seen on the YES Network.
