Around the Empire

New York Post | George A. King III: It has not been an easy task this year, watching the Yankees play baseball. Yankees GM Brian Cashman is no stranger to watching teams that he's put together struggle.. Even so, he admits that this particular team is "frustrating and hard to watch." Time will tell what he will do if their struggles continue.

Fangraphs | Corinne Landry: One thing that has not been hard to watch this year has happily been CC Sabathia's pitching. One of the best stories of the Yankees' season has been Sabathia's resurgence. The adjustments he has made to his arsenal helped him to have a very successful month of May. It's a pleasure to see. Please read the entire article, then give praise to his knee brace.

New York Daily News | John Harper: With the Yankees struggling, selling has been a topic of discussion. Aroldis Chapman, the Yankees current closer, could help some contending teams make a deeper push into the playoffs. Here is a look at some of the teams the Yankees could trade him to, as well as what they could possibly get back for him.

Wall St Journal | Jared Diamond: The Yankees' starting rotation was definitely a question mark going into the season. However, for the most part, they have done a pretty decent job as of late. Of course, they're not getting much run support, which is pretty rude.

Newsday | Erik Boland: Rob Refsnyder has been hitting the ball well, in case you haven't noticed. After his two hits against the Tigers on Thursday, he was on the bench in yesterday's game until Mark Teixeira injured himself yet again. Finding a place for Refsnyder on the roster has not been an easy task. With him taking reps at first base, and depending on the severity of Teixeira's injury, he might be called upon to play the position more.

Newsday | Robert Cassidy: The world lost an icon yesterday as Muhammad Ali passed away at the age of 74. There are some amazing photos of his fight against Ken Norton in Yankee Stadium on September 28th, 1976. R.I.P. to the Greatest of All Time!
