New York Yankees at Minnesota Twins: Michael Pineda vs. Ricky Nolasco

The Yankees look to make it three straight against the Twins with Big Mike on the mound.

Jesse Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

The Yankees will resume their four game set with the Twins today in Minnesota. After a four game losing streak dropped them to 31-34, New York has a chance to win their third straight and return to .500.

Michael Pineda will take the hill for the Yankees. Pineda's troubles have been no secret, but he has slowly been turning his season around recently. He has a 2.89 ERA in has past three starts, striking out 20 batters while walking just four. Ricky Nolasco will start opposite Pineda. Nolasco has posted impressive peripheral numbers this year, in the form of a 3.47 FIP, but has under-performed them to the tune of a 5.12 ERA. This is standard fare for Nolasco, who owns a career 4.57 ERA despite a career 3.79 FIP.

The game will begin at 2:10 EST and can be seen on the YES Network and MLB Network.
