Following last night's impressive pitching performance by CC Sabathia, the Yankees send Masahiro Tanaka to the mound. Sabathia and Tanaka have formed quite the one-two punch, haven't they? Watching those two pitch on back-to-back nights has been a highlight of the 2016 season so far. As for the Twins, left-hander Pat Dean takes to the hill. This will be his first career start against the Yankees. Dean owns a 4.17 ERA (4.36 FIP) heading into tonight's game.
Manager Joe Girardi made a few lineup adjustments for tonight's game. Brett Gardner sits against the left-hander; Aaron Hicks is in left field and batting ninth. Rob Refsnyder bats second and plays first base. The tarp is on the field, but for now first pitch is still scheduled for 8:10 PM. You can catch the game on WPIX.
Update (7:54 PM): The Yankees and Twins are in a rain delay. No start time has been announced. Stay tuned for updates.
Update (8:16 PM): According to Jared Diamond, first pitch will be at 8:45 PM EST.
