Around the Empire
New York Post | Kevin Kernan: Alex Rodriguez is well aware that he's not as young as he use to be. Playing third base is really no longer an option and he is quite content being the DH. It was good to have him back last night. Also, he is a fan of the new matte helmets.
Newsday | Eric Boland: With A-Rod on the DL, Carlos Beltran was slotted as the DH more often than usual. Beltran's hot hitting as the DH have some people calling for Girardi to use him there more. Girardi was pretty adamant that he has hit well as a right fielder, which isn't wrong. Judging by last year and this year, perhaps Beltran just doesn't like the month of April.
New York Daily News | Mark Feinsand: Mark Teixeira's neck issues returned recently. After getting cortisone injections into his neck, he has been resting and is hoping to be back on Sunday. Given Tropicana Field's terrible "Tropicity", raise your hand if you wouldn't mind Teixeira sitting out another day.
LoHud | Chad Jennings: Austin Romine and Chase Headley discuss their experience playing first base, a position they are not use to playing. As if quoting Moneyball, they both describe how it's a lot harder than people think it is. While Teixeira has not been hitting well recently, there's no denying how amazing his defense is.
Fun Questions

- What are your thoughts on the new matte helmets the Yankees wore last night?
Song Of The Day
Work From Home by Fifth Harmony
It's Staff Picks 2016 Best Songs Week on Pinstripe Alley. Today's selection comes from me again as I was out clubbing all night, I forgot to ask them, and they're all currently asleep. I also heard this in the club tonight. I don't actually know if it's good or bad. I just can't get it out of my head right now. As always, please link us your song of the day.
