Around the Empire
Newsday | Erik Boland: While Alex Rodriguez is feeling better as of late, Joe Girardi has decided to wait until Tuesday to activate him. It makes sense, as the Yankees will be back home on Tuesday to face the Blue Jays. It would sure be nice if A-Rod came back strong.
Newsday | Art Spander: Rob Refsnyder finally got his chance to start for the Yankees' yesterday and he definitely came through with a big hit. It is unclear how long Refsnyder will be on the main roster with A-Rod expected to come off of the DL on Tuesday. Whatever happens, it's good to see that he is still hitting the ball consistently.
New York Post | George A. King III: The Yankees currently have a four game winning streak going. It is no coincidence that each pitcher over the past four days have given the Bombers a quality start. Even though this rotation contains Ivan Nova and CC Sabathia, it is painfully obvious that today's starter, Michael Pineda, is the biggest question mark. Well, not so much as question mark, but rather a combination of the shift key and all the number buttons randomly pressed angrily.
New York Daily News | Mark Feinsand: During said quality starts, two starts in particular made everyone question Joe Girardi's use of the three-headed bullpen monster. Nathan Eovaldi and Ivan Nova both had respectable pitch counts heading into the 7th inning, but Girardi chose to go to the pen. Given the "Ghidorah" level strength of said bullpen, it's understandable why Girardi this route, but it would be nice not to abuse this strength too much. So we should probably give thanks to CC, Tanaka, and the offense for their recent outings.
Fun Questions

Song Of The Day
Cheap Thrills by Sia ft. Sean Paul
It's Staff Picks 2016 Best Songs Week on Pinstripe Alley. The year is still young but there's been plenty of music this year. This selection comes from Caitlin. We both agreed that it's a very catchy song. I'm also curious if anyone notices. As always, please link us your song of the day.
