The Yankees will look to stretch their season-high winning streak to four games this afternoon against the Athletics. Masahiro Tanaka will get the ball coming off a couple of tough starts against the White Sox and Royals. Tanaka has allowed ten runs over his last 12 innings, having yielded four home runs in that span. Even with that rough patch, Tanaka's season figures (a 3.51 ERA and 3.46 FIP) are still quite strong.
Sean Manaea will start for Oakland. The rookie was a prospect of some pedigree, ranking among the game's top 100 prospects prior to the 2015 season. He has struggled in his first four career starts, allowing 17 runs in 19.1 innings this year.
The game starts at 4:05 EST on the YES Network. With any luck, the Bombers will be able to keep this season-best streak going.
