Last night, the Yankees won a wild game against the Royals. Today, they have a chance to clinch a series win against Kansas City, in game three of a four-game set in the Bronx. The Yankees will send Michael Pineda to the mound in search of a third straight win. Pineda had his best start of the season last time out against the Red Sox. Hopefully he can build on that today.
Jacoby Ellsbury remains out with injury, as Ben Gamel gets another start. The story is the same for Mark Teixeira, with Dustin Ackley taking his place at first base. The Yankees' lineup will have to deal with Royals' starter Yordano Ventura, who gets the ball for Kansas City.
It's time for another game of Game Thread Secret Word. If you're reading this, please put the word "villain" somewhere in your first comment in the game thread.
