Around the Empire

Newsday | Eric Boland: Starlin Castro, after slightly injuring himself in Sunday night's game, gets a day off to recuperate. Johnny Barbato was sent down to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to make room for Aroldis Chapman. Jacoby Ellsbury is still not ready to rejoin the lineup tomorrow. That should surprise no one.

New York Daily News | Mark Feinsand: Despite people thinking the Yankees are copying the Royals' approach to a shut down bullpen, it is nothing new to the Yankees. However, having more runs than the opponent is usually the best strategy in utilizing said amazing pen. That should also surprise no one.

New York Daily News | Anthony McCarron: Yankees hitters describe what it's like at the plate against Aroldis Chapman. They seem to think it's pretty hard to hit against him, especially now that he's throwing off-speed stuff.

New York Post | George A. King III: Mark Teixeira, CC Sabathia, and Alex Rodriguez will be attending the BTIG Charity Day 2016 in Manhattan tomorrow.

MLB Trade Rumors | Jeff Todd: The Nationals have agreed with Stephen Strasburg for a seven year, $175 million extension, with an opt-out after the third and fourth year. Yankee fans who were hoping they would sign Strasburg will have to look elsewhere, most likely the trade market, for a stud pitcher next year.
