After a brief delay from mother nature, the New York Yankees will open the 2016 regular season at Yankee Stadium against the Houston Astros. Masahiro Tanaka will get the ball for the Yankees, marking the second consecutive season he will take the mound on opening day. The Astros will start reigning AL Cy Young award winner Dallas Keuchel, setting up a rematch of the 2015 AL Wild Card game. The Yankees lost that game 3-0.
The game begins at 1:05 EST, and can be seen on the YES Network as well as on ESPN. With any luck, the first game of this season will be far better than the final game of last season.
The wait is over. Let's go Yankees.
