New York Yankees vs. Oakland Athletics: Luis Severino vs. Rich Hill

Kindly don't get swept.

Desperate to hold off an embarrassing home sweep at the hands of the A's, Joe Girardi is trotting out as many righty bats as possible against southpaw Rich Hill. Brett Gardner will be held out another day to nurse his stiff neck and Ronald Torreyes gets the start over Didi Gregorius, though Girardi said that's not a result of Didi's baserunning error yesterday. Also, Austin Romine starts over Brian McCann, but that is likely more about just giving McCann a day off.

So the only pure lefty in the lineup is Jacoby Ellsbury. Let's hope this works. It helps to have Luis Severino on the mound as well. First pitch is 7:05.

Go Yankees, go baseball, no sweeps.
