This is it, ladies and gentlemen. The final exhibition game before real baseball is played. Tomorrow is Opening Night for baseball, which features a World Series rematch of Mets vs. Royals, but then Monday afternoon Masahiro Tanaka and the Yankees take on the Astros in baseball that matters and is always televised. No need to worry about games no longer being broadcast.
As much as Joe Girardi probably would've liked to wait longer, with spring training being over, he had some decisions to make. After waiting until the last possible minute, he did finally name a fifth starter yesterday.
Joe Girardi announced CC Sabathia won the no. 5 starter's job and will start April 9 vs Tigers in Detroit.... https://t.co/zPODNfpxac

Additionally, the team also announced who would be getting the final spot in the bullpen.

Comments of the Day
Now that regular season is beginning, hopefully this section will get more use now.
GIF of the Day
Congrats to Kirby for making the Yankees!
Honorable Mod Mention
Andrew wins the HMM for reporting on the Derek Jeter statue that will be placed at the shortstop's spot in Yankee Stadium.
Fun Questions
- One pitcher from the Mets' rotation you'd like in a Yankee uniform. (LTL, "none because Mets" is not a valid response)
- Who would you bench in favor of Aaron Hicks on Opening Day?
Song of the Day
Electric Relaxation by A Tribe Called Quest
It's the end of A Tribe Called Quest Week on Pinstripe Alley. Greg and I flipped COTD days for this weekend, but I asked him what song he would've liked to close out the week on, and this was his choice. Told you in the jam that We Can Get Down. As always, please link us your song of the day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for today's game against the Marlins. Joe Girardi will send Luis Severino to the mound for his final tune-up at 1pm. Unfortunately, today's game is not being broadcast anywhere, but after today that's not something we'll have to worry about. Here's the full lineup that will be facing the Marlins:
