After a rainout in Detroit led to two consecutive days off, the Yankees will return to action Monday night in Toronto against the Blue Jays. Masahiro Tanaka will start for New York, a full week after taking a no-decision against the Astros on Opening Day. It remains to be seen if the extra rest will hamper or help Tanaka. For what it's worth, Tanaka has yielded an OPS of just .574 in nine starts on six or more days rest.
Aaron Sanchez will start for the Blue Jays. The young right-hander has bounced between Toronto's rotation and bullpen in recent years, but he was impressive in his first start last week against the Rays. The Blue Jays are looking to rebound after dropping two of three in their home-opening series against the Red Sox.
The game begins at 7:05 EST and can be seen on the YES Network. Time for the Bombers to get back to work.
