Scheduling games in Detroit in the beginning of the season seems unwise. Many people agree with that statement, except MLB schedule makers. Last year the Yankees traveled to Detroit for a series in April and it snowed during the game. This year temperatures were once again extremely frigid and thanks to rain a game was canceled. The Yankees had today as a scheduled off-day so they would've likely played the game today if Detroit was also off, but unfortunately that's not the case. And since this was the only trip to Detroit for the Yankees, the team will have to travel there again to make a game on a day off to make up the game, and right now all signs point July 28th.
That July 28th date is in the middle of a road trip between HOU & TB, and Yankees will play 24 days in a row after All-Star Break. Wheeee.— Pinstripe Alley (@pinstripealley) April 10, 2016
Yeah because Houston to Detroit to Tampa totally makes sense and won't be taxing at all. Nope this is fine. Well at least the bullpen should now be fully available for the series against the Blue Jays.

GIF of the Day
Not even a frisbee can make up for the sadness of a game being postponed.
As the creator of this gif, I have to say I definitely don't remember to use it enough. Thanks Greg for making sure it sees its time in the sun, or well rain I guess.
D'aww of the Day
Honorable Mod Mention
I'm going to go ahead and giving to myself for getting my first "Callin' It" of the year when I said CC would be the first rotation member to pitch into the seventh. In fact, I called it twice here and here.

- What is worse: rain when it's cold or wind when it's cold?
Song of the Day
Here Comes the Rain Again by Eurythmics
It's April Showers Week on Pinstripe Alley. Because of the poor/bizarre weather we've been dealing with recently, Greg's choice for a theme is absolutely fitting. I ended up driving in practically a blizzard on Saturday only to see all traces of it gone by the next morning. Weather's weird, yo.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. It's an off-day but our favorite baseball team will be back at it tomorrow with Masahiro Tanaka taking the mound against Aaron Sanchez and the Blue Jays. Because of the game being postponed yesterday, all starters will be pushed back a day so Michael Pineda and Nathan Eovaldi will follow Tanaka to finish off the series in Toronto.
Go Yankees? Yes.
Go baseball? Yes.
Go rain? No.
