It's safe to say that yesterday sucked. Above everything else that we look for from our players during spring training, the one thing we really want is for them to be healthy. The Yankees had been pretty fortunate in that regard for the majority of the preseason. But alas, yesterday sucked.
Andrew Miller got hit on his right wrist by a line-drive comebacker. A CT Scan revealed a chip fracture. As of the time of this writing, it is unclear how severe this fracture is. We will hopefully know more shortly. The one positive is that the fracture was not on the hand he throws with. Still, as we learned with Mark Teixeira, wrists are tricky and annoying.
In addition to that, Bryan Mitchell sprained his left big toe while covering first base. He is scheduled for an MRI. Hopefully it's not too serious of an injury, as it was just announced that he made the team. Speaking of making the team, it seems that Johnny Barbato will be on the main roster as well.Meanwhile, in the Fifth Tiff, Ivan Nova pitched six scoreless innings yesterday. One would like to say that this will make Girardi's decision harder, but it probably won't.It's been a surreal day. Can't thank the people enough that supported me along the way. Can't wait to rock the pinstripes on opening day!!!!

The 90's had some fun moments, didn't they?
GIF of the Day
When the Humbler comes to take our happiness away, we need a little bit of awesomeness like this to remind us that joy does actually exist!
Honorable Mod Mention
New PSA writer Chris Novak gets the HMM for his quick post on the saddest of topics. Welcome aboard!
Fun Questions
- Favorite type of car? (Sports, hatchback, minivan, sedan, etc.)
- If Johnny Barbato ever hit a homerun, what would Sterling's HR call for him be?
Song of the Day
Award Tour by A Tribe Called Quest
It's A Tribe Called Quest Week on Pinstripe Alley. This was probably the most appropriate song I could choose for today, as Phife Dawg was "coming with more hits than the Braves and the Yankees." One of my favorite rap lyrics ever. As always, please link us your song of the day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for today. It's another split-squad day as the Yankees divide and conquer to take on the Braves and the Cardinals. Michael Pineda will take the mound against the Cardinals at GMS Field while Chad Green will face the Tigers. Pineda's start will be broadcast on YES and MLBN. Both games will be on MLB.tv. Here's hoping that no one else gets hurt.
