PSA Comments of the Day 3/29/16: Yankees vs. Pennsylvania

The Yankees split up to cover more ground. This is a bad strategy when looking for clues inside a haunted amusement park, but it's not too bad when it comes to split-squad spring training action.

The Yankees faced the Detroit Tigers yesterday. Or did they? There are reports and recaps of them playing one another, but there was no video or audio of it. How can we trust these reports? If you ask me, it's a conspiracy. If you trust these reports and recaps, then you'll be pleased to know that Mark Teixeira hit his first home run of the spring. Furthermore, Dustin Ackley knocked in two more runs with a double, propelling the Yankees to a 3-2 victory over Detroit. These runs came in the later innings because the Tigers' bullpen is still a thing.

Meanwhile, Luis Cessa pitched against his former franchise and only gave up a single across three innings. It would have been nice to see what the future Justin Wilson Trade trivia answer could do, but sadly science has not found a while to show us what's going on at games. Nick Goody gave up a pair of dingers to Ian Kinsler and Justin Upton. His chances of making the bullpen are not so Goody. Today, the Yankees participate in split-squad action against both the baseball teams from Pennsylvania.

That would be an impressive "callin' it!"

I just learned that the tri-state area is not the only area that has seen this classic ad.

Honorable Mod Mention

Harlan wins the HMM for this, because it's now what I'll think of if Torreyes makes the team.

Song of the Day

Check the Rhime by A Tribe Called Quest

It's A Tribe Called Quest Week on Pinstripe Alley. I imagine this song is like when Shah and I started working in tandem for the COTD threads. You on point, Shah? Phife was always on point! As always, please link us your song of the day.

Feel free to use this as your open thread for today. The Yankees will take on the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Philadelphia Phillies this afternoon. CC Sabathia will continue the "Fifth Tiff" as he takes the mound against the Pirates. This game will be broadcast on the YES Network and MLB.tv. Masahiro Tanaka, who is now apparently questionable as the opening day starter, will face the Phillies. This game will be broadcast on the MLBN and MLB.tv.
