Before yesterday's game against the Twins, the Yankees sent Rob Refsnyder down to AAA effectively ending the idea that he would make the Opening Day roster as the backup third baseman. While disappointing to many fans, this probably makes the most sense for now seeing as Refsnyder hasn't faced (oh yeah I went there) much time at the hot corner and still could use some time to learn it. Although the Yankees could've gone with my idea:

The "3rdsnyder" experiment has not ended though, so once he learns to avoid getting hit in the face, there's a good chance he can make his way up to the majors.
Refsnyder will get a bunch of work at third base at Triple-A, Girardi said #Yankees

See? Not to worry, Ref fans. It is funny how spring training works though and how things can change in an instant.
At various points this spring, I believed Gary Sanchez and Rob Refsnyder were near locks for the Opening Day roster. Stuff changes quickly.

Pretty much this. Now it's likely Austin Romine and either Pete Kozma or Ronald Torreyes. Torreyes might have the leg up though, because a) he's on the 40-man already b) he's hit better this spring c) his name is so much better and d)
My favorite thing about Ronald Torreyes: His last name is a combination of "Torre" and "yes," which made for a great match last decade.

I think I mentioned something about his name being better right?
Yesterday's game itself was pretty uneventful for the most part, Jacoby Ellsbury made his return to the lineup and went hitless. His partner-in-crime, however...

Pretty rude of Ellsbury to not get on base before him and make it a two-run shot. Oh yeah, this happened as well:

Because of course it did.
Comments of the Day
Rob is facing many challenges to make it to the majors, but I'm sure he'll tackle them head-on.

For as long as A-Rod twitters, this section might just be forever renamed, at least until the regular season. Oh and some of these kids definitely look photoshopped into the picture.
Honorable Mod Mention
I believe the voters have chosen me to receive the award for earning the only COTD.
Fun Quesitons
- Do you have a preference between Kozma and Torreyes?
- Jesus Montero was placed on waivers yesterday, should the Yankees look to bring him back?
Song of the Day
Scenario by A Tribe Called Quest
It's A Tribe Called Quest Week on Pinstripe Alley. Unfortunately 2016 has taken another artist from the world in Phife Dawg, so this week we'll be honoring him. I've been in a '90s kick recently, I saw a '90s cover band not too long ago and have been doing a lot of '90s power hours, and today's song comes up almost all of the time. As always, please link us your song of the day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for tonight's game against the Tigers. The Yankees will send Luis Cessa to the mound, and it would be cool for fans to get a look at him as he's probably one of the pitchers lined to make spot starts in case of injuries to the rotation. Unfortunately, fans won't be able to as this game is not being broadcast in anyway. Tonight's game starts at 6:35.
On the other hand, one more week until Opening Day!

Although, why wouldn't you go for the spicy brown mustard?
