The Yankees took on one of their division rivals yesterday and defeated them. This proves that the Yankees will defeat them during the regular season as well. There's really no reason to continue to play the Blue Jays the rest of the year, right? The victory over them yesterday determines everything? No? Well, alright. Sometimes baseball just makes no sense like that.
It was an impressive day for a couple of Yankees on Saturday. Aaron Hicks, formerly of the team the Yankees are about to face this afternoon, lead off yesterday's game with a home run. I'd like to say the proper way to a fan's heart are dingers, but some think that we hit too many of them. While Hicks impressed behind the plate, Bryan Mitchell impressed on the mound. Mitchell went four innings, allowing only one hit and one walk while striking out four. It's highly unlikely that Mitchell has any shot at winning or even being considered for the Fifth Tiff between Sabathia and Nova. At the very least, he is looking like a pretty decent Adam Warren replacement out of the pen. With injury concerns and hefty work loads, it's likely that Mitchell could make some spot starts as well.

Song of the Day
8 Million Stories by A Tribe Called Quest
It's A Tribe Called Quest Week on Pinstripe Alley. This week we'll be honoring the late great Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest. Midnight Marauders is my personal favorite rap album of all time, even though Low End Theory is probably a better album from them. As always, please link us your song of the day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for today. The Yankees take on the Twins this afternoon. Nathan Eovaldi will take the mound and hopefully Jacoby Ellsbury will man the outfield and pick up a bat. The game will be broadcast on YES Network, MLBN, and MLB.tv. Happy Easter everybody.
#NastyNate and the #Yankees host the Twins today at 1:05 ET. Watch on @YESNetwork, @MLBTV.https://t.co/d6fVej5XIN pic.twitter.com/EhvZtaKtIy
