Michael Pineda looked solid once again in his start yesterday and Starlin Castro continued his extremely hot spring. If this carries into the regular season that would be amazing, but I already love the fact that he's not Stephen Drew. This is the way I drew it up!

Besides Pineda's solid start and Castro continuing his vendetta against baseballs, the biggest news from the game yesterday was Jacoby Ellsbury having to leave the game as a result of being hit by a pitch. Luckily, at least for right now it seems as though he's okay.
CT scan and x-rays on Ellsbury's wrist were negative.

Us fans can breathe a sigh of relief for right now. It still wouldn't be surprising to see him sit out a game or so just to make sure everything's okay. What was surprising, at least to me, was what Joe Girardi said his plan of action would be if Ellsbury had to miss some time.
Girardi said that if Ellsbury were to miss significant time, he would keep Gardner in LF & play Hicks in CF. #Yankees

Not that I think it would matter too much, I just would've thought Brett Gardner would slide over and Aaron Hicks would cover him. Oh well, luckily it seems like this isn't something that we should worry about for now.

Fun Questions
- Based on what you've seen of Hicks this spring, would you start him in center over Gardner?
- Is there anyone from the list of cuts that you wish stuck around a little longer?
Song of the Day
Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver
It's Nature Week on Pinstripe Alley. I went hiking yesterday and had a great time and now as a result of that, we're going to celebrate nature this week. This could be taken as just a country song, but I think it falls in the nature category as well. As always please link us your song of the day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for today's game. The Yankees will visit and take on the Twins as Ivan Nova takes the mound in hopes of trying to earn a spot in the rotation. As much as I don't believe there's even a sliver of a chance of him starting in the rotation, injuries notwithstanding, I respect that he's still fighting and actually pitching decently. Hopefully he can carry his success into the regular season and not be the Nova we all know. Today's game will be available on MLB.tv.
